The Merry Mac Walk Behind Portable Stump Cutter Grinder is
rugged! The tough, welded, uni-body frame construction is
compact and lightweight, making it easy to get to the job
site without turf damage. This compact stump cutter features
a patented cutter head system that cuts like a router rather
than grinding the stump. This allows the machine to be
smaller and there is virtually no resistance to the cutter
head.
Another unique feature is the reversible handle that allows
cutting from either end, but the big advantage of operating
from the cutter end is you have total visibility of the
cutter head and the stump. When you flip the handle you can
then access stumps located against a fence or a building
that would not allow access with the handle at the cutter
end!
Also features the only brake clutch system that virtually
stops the cutter head in under two seconds when the operator
presence handle is released; this is significantly safer
than traditional centrifugal clutches. The Cutter Head set
30 degrees off vertical when mounted on shaft. It discharges
chips quickly. This along with the unique 45 degree, 25
degree, and straight configuration of the cutting teeth
enables very low horsepower to achieve the same end result
of much larger machines.
The weight of the complete cutter head and small diameter
act like a flywheel allowing very fast and smooth cutting.
Unique sequence of cutting teeth allows cutting in all
directions. Easy On-Off of complete head allows changing or
sharpening of teeth with very little down time. Double
locking system to hold teeth in place. Ridge groove mating
system plus compression of cover plate for added safety.
Automatic, self-aligning cutter head to shaft assures
perfect balance. Cap screws for cover plate are recessed to
avoid damage from foreign objects.
